Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Vrenberg Bar uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you access or use the Platform. This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Overview
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage is a similar browser mechanism that lets a site store data on your device between visits. Vrenberg Bar uses a small, deliberate set of these technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, protect your work, and understand how the site is used.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell data collected through cookies or local storage.

What We Use
2.1 Essential — Authentication
Authentication is handled by Supabase. Session tokens keep you signed in as you move between pages and study features. Without them, the Platform cannot function: you could not stay logged in, and your progress could not be attached to your account. These are set automatically and do not require separate consent.
Maintains your authenticated session and keeps your study activity attached to your account.
2.2 Functional — Preferences and Drafts
Functional storage remembers your settings and protects your in-progress work. Disabling it will not break the Platform, but you may lose your theme choice, unsaved drafts, or an in-progress diagnostic session.
Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode so the site renders correctly on your next visit.
Automatically saves essay and MPT drafts in progress so a closed tab or lost connection doesn't destroy your work.
Preserves the state of an in-progress diagnostic so you can resume where you left off.
2.3 Analytics — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, and which events occur (such as signing up or starting a free trial). Google Analytics sets cookies (including _ga and _ga_*) and processes information such as IP address, device and browser details, approximate location, and pages viewed.
You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking analytics cookies through the browser controls described in Section 4.
03
Third-Party Services
Some third-party providers we rely on may set their own cookies when you interact with their services through the Platform:
- Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention, when you make a purchase.
- Supabase: authentication infrastructure.
- Vercel: hosting and content delivery.
- Google Analytics: site analytics, as described above.
Third-party cookies are governed by the respective privacy and cookie policies of those providers. We encourage you to review them.
04
Managing Your Preferences
Most web browsers allow you to view, manage, block, and delete cookies and local storage through their settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in, and clearing local storage may delete unsaved drafts or an in-progress diagnostic session.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to it, and Vrenberg does not currently alter its practices in response to DNT signals.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the technologies we use, or legal requirements. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
